Five years after the release, one of the basic interface conveniences appeared on the Switch – the ability to organize games into folders. This feature was introduced in the firmware with the proud round number 14.0.0.

Nintendo calls folders “groups” and highlights the following features:

  • You can create up to 100 groups. Each group can have up to 200 games.
  • The location of the games within the group can be sorted as you like.
  • There is a search within the group.
  • Nuance: groups do not end up on the Switch home screen. To view and open folders, you need to scroll the home screen all the way to the right, open the “All Programs” item and only there press L and get into the menu with groups.

Judging by the official list of changes, apart from folders, the 14.0.0 update has only one notable innovation – the redesigned behavior of Bluetooth audio devices. Now the audio volume can be controlled both through the Switch and through the buttons on the device (but for this the device must support AVRCP profiles).
