My acquaintance with Battlefield 4 took place relatively recently, literally last summer. And from that very moment, the multiplayer swallowed me up for dozens of hours and showed what the real Battlefield is and why it is loved so much. Closing his eyes after the next stage of a large-scale war, only hit markers stood before his eyes. After that, the ardor had to be somewhat reduced, limiting itself to a couple of hours of playing in my free time. But during this time you received just a carload of emotions and a positive mood. It’s still good that people continue to play it, giving the opportunity to get acquainted with it for someone like me, who did not find it at the time of release. Which may be good, because at the time of release, many called it completely unplayable. Right now it’s the best Battlefield in existence, but the same can only be said about multiplayer, as the campaign is, to put it mildly, ambiguous. It seems to me that it was a little wrong to get to know her after 90 hours of multiplayer, because it immediately catches the eye as mechanics that are perfectly polished in online battles simply do not work or work poorly in the story part. That’s how I like all these military singles, but this just raises a bunch of questions that we’ll discuss now, and in the end we’ll talk about the advantages of the Battlefield 4 story campaign.

I don’t see any reason to find fault with the plot, that in the battle, because everything is standard delusional there, another third world war between America, Russia and China, all according to the precepts of Tom Clancy. But its integral part are the characters that should evoke some kind of feeling. And they cause a feeling of hatred towards them. Why do we have to run with the Irishman for most of the game, who simply infuriates with his constant whining, stupid antics, a complete lack of subordination, discipline, and in general any traits of a special forces officer. How he got into the ranks of the gravedigger remains a big mystery, because watching him, the image of a typical anime protagonist looms, that is, a screaming impulsive teenager, and we have a kind of serious war here. That is why, when given the opportunity to get rid of him, I did it with great pleasure, without waiting for the end of the dialogue.

Why not make Pak the main partner, at least he does not infuriate and, in general, is a fairly disciplined and executive member of the squad. Or Dmitry, who, in my opinion, is generally the best character in this game. In the short time that we spend in his company, he manages to be remembered, we understand that he survived a nuclear explosion or something like that and, in general, has seen everyone in his difficult life. Here, choosing between him and Pak, I would hesitate, but here everything is successfully merged and does not cause any emotions. Plus, all these faces are not burdened with artificial intelligence from the word at all. I will say more, here is the dumbest AI that I have ever seen, because it is simply useless. If in a witch the partners are even capable of killing someone, then forget it here. In the game, we are presented with the mechanics of interacting with them, which simply does not work. When you press the button, the party members must open fire on the marked targets and even if not kill, but at least shoot to suppress, so that the player deftly bypasses the opponents from the flank and eliminates them. But they are blunt and therefore can stand in an open place a meter from the enemy, turning their backs to him. Here I just shrugged and did not find words to describe this situation.

I said that the characters do not cause any emotions, but you know what causes them, bugs. It would seem that the game of 2013 should work properly by the twenty-second, but no, it is simply full of disappearing textures, falling through objects, a mismatch between sounds and what is happening around. My favorite is the mission when the squad makes their way to the ship through its flooded decks, I have not experienced such pain for a long time. The character rests incomprehensibly on what and simply refuses to swim forward. You consider the environment, but you do not see what he can cling to. When you try to continue moving, the movement occurs at a millimeter per minute and you get the feeling that the brave warrior is caught on something by his cowards, because I simply did not find other reasons. With all this, for dozens of hours of multiplayer, no such problems were encountered, although it would seem that polishing everything is much more difficult there. And on the release, as I heard, all this was present, only they fixed it there, but not on the single.

I would also like to mention missions in which battle mechanics do not work as they should. This is especially evident in the mission where we control the tank. The location on which we operate is limited and does not allow us to successfully maneuver, which we would like if the developers spawn enemy vehicles right in front of us. And this is very critical when you go around one tank, and another one spawns nearby and starts shooting at you from both sides. And this happens not because of your inattention, since you can look through the teplok, but simply did not enter its activation zone, after that you just wanted to spit on this campaign.

But there was something that actually pleased. Despite all attempts, the developers failed to spoil the main thing, the feeling of shooting. Both in multiplayer and in single player, it is pleasant to shoot from guns, sensations, recoil at the highest level, even in comparison with MW 2019, in which the gunfight, at least for me, is the best among arcade shooters. The way the weapon sounds is just a song and you can really understand what the fire is being fired from. The only disappointing thing about this is that the guns have pre-installed modules and cannot be changed along the way, so some guns are a bit unplayable.

In addition to weapons, which not only feel, they look just great, the equipment also evokes the same emotions. Usually I don’t think about this, but in Battlefield 4 at some point I caught myself thinking that in the cutscenes I’m not watching the events taking place, but I’m looking at the uniforms of the soldiers, everything is so meticulously done that I can’t take my eyes off. And you sit and notice all these details, who is wearing a helmet, what headphones, backpacks and you understand that you are watching a kind of military porn, everything is so cool in this regard designed.

And now I would like to smash the game to smithereens, which it deserves, but for the multiplayer, this single process is forgiven for it, which is not worth attention at all. Anyway, I didn’t think that after MW 2019 multiplayer I would be able to play military shooter singles, but it’s still worth a try, because the last cold single for me was Modern Warfare 3, so maybe it’s worth catching up.

Thank you for your attention, don’t miss the good content and bye everyone!!!
